Frederick Douglass Large Tote Bag, 15" x 15" x 8", by Annette and Jon Fortt
Frederick Douglass was born a slave, and became one of America's best-known abolitionists. He spoke out forcefully against injustice where he saw it, giving speeches encouraging African Americans to fight for the Union in the Civil War despite unequal conditions, and decrying injustices blacks faced during Reconstruction.
This design is based on a piece Annette Fortt created in the late 1980s. Jon and Annette collaborated to adapt it for this cotton twill tote bag.
